Regardless of whether you prefer windows, aisle or more legroom, Lufthansa seat reservation gives you the option of reserving seats for you and your fellow travelers in advance or of choosing your preferred seats at check-in.




Lufthansa seat reservations for Economy Class passengers

Do you like to sit by the window, do you love your aisle seat or do you want more legroom during the flight? Book your preferred seat when booking your flight. Here you will find all information about the seat reservation fees in Economy Class.

Free seat selection at check-in

Of course, you can choose the remaining seats free of charge as soon as check-in for the respective flight begins - usually 23 hours before departure. Please note that the choice is limited under these conditions.

Add or change seats afterwards

After your booking has been confirmed, you can reserve a seat up to 52 hours before departure. To do this, find your trip under My Bookings. You can then book or change your place here.

You can only switch your seat to another seat or at a lower price. Fees already paid will not be refunded.

Please note that a confirmed Lufthansa seat reservation does not legally entitle you to a specific seat on board the aircraft, but only to the selected category (e.g. aisle seat, window seat, seat with more legroom).

Seat reservations for Premium Economy, Business and First Class

Lufthansa seat reservations on intercontinental flights are free of charge for passengers in Premium Economy Class as well as in Business and First Class (seat reservations for continental feeder flights are subject to a charge).

Seat reservations on flights that are not operated by Lufthansa, Lufthansa Regional or Austrian Airlines

Please understand that Lufthansa seat reservations are only possible to a limited extent on flights that are not operated by Lufthansa, Lufthansa Regional or Austrian Airlines, especially in Economy Class. Please contact the provider of the flight in question.

Conditions for Lufthansa seat reservations

  • The flight is operated by Lufthansa, Lufthansa Regional (Air Dolomiti, Lufthansa CityLine) or Lufthansa Express Rail (DB).
  • The flight reservation is confirmed (no waiting list bookings)
  • The seat is reserved at least 52 hours before departure.
